This long tiered skirt is upcycled from a rare Showa-era (1926–1989) public bath curtain called “noren”.
Dyed with traditional persimmon tannin (kakishibu) and detailed with hand-stitched sashiko embroidery, it carries the nostalgic humor of the time — words like milk, shampoo, and rinse remain on the fabric.
The large “ゆ” (yu) symbolizes warm bath water, a gentle reminder of Japan’s beloved sento culture.
